What is NEC?

Have ever heard someone say… “The wiring is not up to code.”

This commonly refers to an adopted publication of NFPA 70: National Electrical Code® that is used as the baseline standard for safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment. NEC® publications define standards that are often mandated by states, regions, municipalities or localities. Also, some states, regions, municipalities or localities may have additional regulations that amend or supercede published NEC® standards.

According to the National Fire Protection Association the current edition of NFPA 70: National Electrical Code® is the 2014 edition. Each state, region, municipality or locale may have adopted previous editions.  Since 2009, Pennsylvania operates under the 2009 edition of the International Building Code which references the most current edition (at the time of publishing) of the NFPA 70: National Electrical Code® (2008)

At Cade Electric, our electricians are under mandated compliance of NEC® standards. In addition to NEC® compliance we also hold ourselves to the highest standard of quality workmanship. We take pride in doing the job right.
